I was asked to give presentation about the lessons learned from the WeHelpen Initiative at the EAHSA conference in Lyon. EAHSA stands for European Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing. The conference provided a forum for considering the future for the ageing society: the end of public funding and the welfare state in favor of new business and societal models that are yet to be invented.
Collaborative economy: from consumerism to collaboration
During my presentation I zoomed in on the possibilities of the collaborative or sharing economy by showcasing WeHelpen. WeHelpen is an online platform and the national organisation that brings together persons in need of support solutions and those that want to offer their services, whether professionals or volunteers. Since 2013 I am a member of Advisory Council of Coöperative WeHelpen.
